| NO SALT STORY... |
My name is Burton and this is my "SALT to NO SALT" story. I was born in Newport Beach, California. I started surfing at the age of 12, and have never stopped. I was a member of the Fountain Valley High School Surf Team. After graduating from high school, I moved to Lahaina, Maui, where I lived and, of course, surfed for a year. Following my time in Hawaii, I moved back to California. In 2005, I met a girl named Jody. She was living in Los Angeles, California, but was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She literally grew up with Lake Michigan in her backyard. In April of 2006, we traveled to Racine, Wisconsin for her brother's wedding. This is when I got my first experience with "freshwater" surfing. I was welcomed by Lake surfer "TW", Tom Ward, who set me up with a board and some advice on surfing in the elements. I had never surfed in these conditions. It was a cold April day in Wisconsin. I never imagined surfing 40-some degree water, amidst snow flurries. This was definitely a new surfing style for me, nonetheless, I was hooked. In June 2006, Jody and I relocated from California to Wisconsin, and my "No Salt" story continued. No Salt was created by my wife and myself, and is dedicated to all the TRUE surfers out there. We hope our website, and my surf cast, will help others "catch" the stoke and/or keep the stoke for surfing. Thanks for visiting, now go surf...
